I have found one janky work around that only functions on my work MacBook, it still sucks though because it means I basically can't use the mic in the headset. Instead these headphones are worse at sound isolation than simple closed-back headphones.
Its infuriating, one of the reasons I wanted these headphones was so that the NC could help with some of the fan noise from my aging rig.
This means the noise cancelling is totally useless when the very sounds I would like to cancel ARE AMPLIFIED INTO MY EARS!! This means I can't use these headphones for gaming at my rig because the sound of my computer and keyboard noises get played into my ears. This means calls sound AWFUL i can barely hear anyone over the sound in the world around me being piped into my ears. If the mic is connected, it will play the sound of whatever it picks up through the headphones. I did submit the contact form on the sennheiser website but received no response. I'm just so tired of putting up with it I'm getting ready to trash these headphones. I have had these headphones for some time now and the mic monitoring has been a relentless issue.
